An Update on the APA Young Friends Board posted 04/19/16

apa_logoThe APA Adoption Center Young Friends Board is well on its way with 19 board members and 6 committee members! Launch St. Louis board members and APA Young Friends members are setting everything in motion.  Since the February 11th informative recruitment mixer, the board was formed, committees were formed, meetings were had and kitties and puppies have been loved. The board is made up of different committees:  membership, volunteer, events, marketing, fundraising and executive. The committees are currently holding meetings to set goals and to create a timeline.

The membership committee is working on developing membership benefits, designing APA swag and  a big recruitment initiative.  The marketing committee will be working with the membership committee to spread the word about the young friends board.
The events committee is working on creative ways to fundraise, creating events to raise awareness of the organization as well as the newly formed young friends board.  The events committee hopes to plan a signature event that will be geared towards young professionals all in the hope of helping the APA’s mission.

The volunteer committee hopes to create volunteer opportunities for the young friends board and committee members with guidance from the APA staff.   The committee also hopes to use social media and other engagement strategies to convert volunteers to board members.

Overall, Launch St. Louis and the APA are very excited to be working together.  The Young Friends Board is made up of very passionate and creative individuals and are sure to form a productive board for the APA.
