The team at Launch St. Louis

Originally serving as the Young Friends of Gilda for Gilda’s Club St. Louis, we created Launch St. Louis to address a need we found prevalent in the St. Louis market – a source for the knowledge, resources and energy needed to create “young friends” groups. Our team was assembled to be extremely diverse – making us a well-rounded advisor. Take a moment to meet Launch St. Louis.

Launch St. Louis Executive Board Committee

 Katie Mauschbaugh, Chairperson

Katie Mauschbaugh is proud to call herself a native St. Louisan. Her work in Community Relations at Enterprise Holdings has fueled her passion for St. Louis and the incredible network of nonprofits that call it home. Katie joined Launch as a committee member in the Fall of 2017 to help other young professionals find the causes important to them. Forever on a quest to find the best toasted ravioli in St. Louis, Katie can often be found trying new restaurants throughout the area. She also enjoys Cardinals games, cooking, and evenings on her patio with her husband Matt and dog Huckleberry.

 Katie Holtgrave, Treasurer

Katie grew up in a small town on the Illinois side but now resides in downtown St. Louis. She works as a forensic accountant at Anders CPAs + Advisors and volunteers her time on a few Young Friends boards including Epworth’s YF board and the Young Friends of Downtown STL, Inc. Katie loves staying connected in the community and likes to check out local restaurants, local music scenes, and everything St. Louis sports. She enjoys being active by playing in soccer and sand volleyball leagues and by exploring new countries, cities, and cultures – making a point to take multiple trips a year.

Paul VandenElzen

Paul VandenElzen, Community Programs

Paul is a Lead Research Analyst and Project Manager at Avant Marketing Group. In addition to his work with Launch St. Louis, Paul is an avid volunteer and Board member with the Young Friends of the APA. When he is not conducting market research he can be found backpacking, kayaking and camping through-out the Midwest.

 Derek May, External Relations

Derek grew up outside a small town in southern Illinois and has been proud to call himself a St. Louis resident since 2013. Derek currently serves as the Senior Director of Philanthropy for the St. Louis Area Foodbank, bringing with him a passion for food access and nutrition.  Derek joined Launch as an education committee member in 2017 to inspire and connect younger generations to causes they have a passion for.  Outside of work, Derek enjoys volunteering with other community organizations, playing volleyball, and hiking local trails.

Launch St. Louis Board

 Liz Rolf

Liz Rolf is a Public Health Research Coordinator in the James Lab at Washington University School of Medicine, where she analyzes data, builds community networks, and helps design and execute public health interventions. A St. Louis native, Liz joined the 18 Month Partnership Committee in Fall 2016 to help local nonprofits grow and retain their talent pool. In addition to sitting on Launch’s Board, Liz also chairs the Sponsorship Committee of the Humane Society of Missouri’s Young Friends Board and serves on both the YWCA’s Walk-A-Mile Committee and the YWCA Young Ambassadors Recruitment Committee. In her (rare) free time, Liz can usually be found taking a class of some kind, at a local music or art show, or playing with her rescue dogs, Suko and Winston.

 Chelsea Hawk, MBA

Chelsea Hawk, MBA is the administrative assistant to the Chief Medical Officer at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. She is also the program coordinator for their yearly USDA sponsored summer lunch program “Lunch to Grow” and most recently helped stand up their outpatient Telehealth program amid the COVID 19 outbreak. In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and volunteering at The Combat Air Museum, helping restore vintage aircraft. She has been a part of LaunchSTL since January 2020.

 Allison Guidry

Allison is an Account Manager for innovative supplement ingredients at Stratum Nutrition. Growing up in Wisconsin and finishing school at UMSL, Allison fell in love with everything St. Louis had to offer. Having attended Launch U with a previous Young Friends Group she is excited to now be on the other side helping young professionals find ways to get involved in the city they love. In her free time she likes traveling, reading, yoga classes at Tower Grove park, and any activity involving a patio with friends.

Jeanna Burch

Jeanna Burch is a recent transplant to St. Louis in mid-2020. Jeanna is currently a student in Washington University’s Nonprofit Management graduate program. She has spent most of her career working in nonprofits because she loves creating change for the betterment of our world. One of her achievements in helping launch the program Opera for All at Opera Carolina. Opera for All was created to help make art and live performances accessible to anyone. She loves theatre, art, and music and cannot wait to explore St. Louis in all it has to offer in both nonprofit and art.

Kelly Remick

Kelly Remick is from a small town in Illinois called Woodstock, which you may recognize from the famous movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. Having moved to St. Louis in June of 2019, she now works as the Director of Development for Trailnet, improving the accessibility of walking and biking networks throughout the community. Kelly is also working to finish her Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management at Washington University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, puzzles, wine, and hiking. Once international travel is safe and open again, she cannot wait to explore new countries and utilize some vacation time!
