In simple terms, our team of young professionals works to recruit, train and eventually Launch your very own Young Friends Board – in just one year. We handle everything from start to finish. To get started, you just need to apply, which you can do at the bottom of this page. But first, please take a moment to read through the following to learn whether your organization might be a good fit.

Characteristics of a Launch St. Louis partner organization

  • Our partners must have completed LaunchU in the last five years to acquire the baseline of knowledge needed to complete the program.
  • Our partners must have a passion for developing their nonprofit with new energy in the form of a Young Friends Board.
  • Our partners understand that we welcome responsibility. In fact, that we prefer it. Please trust us with your white-canvas opportunity. Our goal is to help you build your Young Friends Board from scratch.
  • Our partners believe and understand the importance of developing new talent in the St. Louis area. We will groom future leaders that can take your parent organization to new heights in the years to come.

How does an organization qualify?

  • 501(c)3
  • Does not have a young friends board or has a current, under-functioning young friends board

Expectations of partner nonprofit

  • Commitment to success from partner organization governing board
  • Dedicated staff liaison
  • Full governing board membership to co-chairperson of newly developed Young Friends Board with voting rights
  • Provide meeting location if necessary (we can assist with identifying a meeting location)
  • Database accessible to Launch (through agency staff only, we will not personally utilize the database)
  • Willingness to dedicate resources
